Sunil Bharti Mittal on Entrepreneurship
When Sunil Bharti Mittal started in business more than 30 years ago in Ludhiana in Northern India, he borrowed 00 to make bicycle crankshafts. Today, he heads the billion Bharti Group, whose flagship company, Bharti Airtel, is India’s largest mobile phone operator. Forbes magazine, which estimates Mittal’s net worth at some billion, ranks him among Asia’s self-made millionaires. Mittal spoke with India Knowledge@Wharton at the US-India Business Council’s 33rd annual meeting in Washington, DC, about the leadership and entrepreneurial lessons he has learned during his career. Among them: When faced with a choice between perfection and speed, choose speed; perfection will follow.

Cambodia: Health Equity Fund Brings Medical Care to the Poor
A visit to Battambang Provincial Referral Hospital in Cambodia shows examples of how Health Equity Fund schemes supported by the World Bank’s Health Sector Support Program are covering approximately 2.75 million poor people. At this hospital, the number of poor people who come to avail of health services has doubled. HEF pays for the bill for each patients treatment fee, meals, transport, and other additional costs.
